The Emberlit Stove

The Emberlit Stove weighs less than 11.3 oz (316 g) and is constructed of rugged stainless steel. When you compare that to a full canister of fuel and burner, the difference in weight is astounding! The stainless steel EmberLit is impervious to corrosion and remarkably strong. This camping or backpacking stove will hold the weight of any pot or pan that will sit securely without wobble. Like the rest of the EmberLit line, this wood burning stove comes with a lifetime guarantee because you are never going to wear it out. With use, the individual panels that make up the EmberLit may take on a slight warp. This is normal and doesn’t affect the assembly or durability of the stove. Great for camping, backpacking, bushcraft, wilderness survival, and disaster preparation.

FREE FUEL and EASY COOKING are the hallmarks of the EmberLit Stove. Feeding the EmberLit arm- length sticks makes it easy to maintain and control. Just a handful of scrap wood gathered on the trail is more than enough to boil water and cook a full meal. No messing with bits of twigs, no flare ups, no smoke outs...just easy cooking with EmberLit.

Fuel
The unique feed port holds fuel wood in place just above the embers.

Oxygen
The EmberLit creates a strong draft of oxygen rich air to ensure plenty of air flow

Heat
The solid burn plate collects embers that protect and focus enough heat to burn thick fuel.

How to Assemble Your EmberLit Stove:

Start by hooking the three Side Walls together.
Attach the Floor Plate by inserting its tabs into the slots below the intake holes on the Side Walls.
Hook the Front Side (feed port) to the Side Walls along one edge. Then twist the Front Side in order to hook the opposite edge and complete the stove.

How to Use Your EmberLit Stove:

Properly fed, the EmberLit Stove requires minimal effort to produce and maintain an even flame with little or no smoke. The first time you use it, the stove will discolor from heat. This is perfectly normal and in no way affects the function of the stove.

Cooking…

When you’re ready to cook, start a small fire inside the stove using twigs no thicker than a pencil. Once all the twigs are burning well, begin feeding the stove with thumb-thick branches and fuel wood. The fuel wood can be as long as you want, however, about the length of your forearm seems to be the most manageable. Place as much fuel as will fit in the feed port, letting the excess lengths hang out. As the ends of the sticks are consumed, gently push them into the stove. If you are experiencing flare ups through the feed port, try using thicker fuel wood and keeping the feed port full.

Cleanup…

To extinguish your EmberLit, pull out the remaining fuel wood by the unburned sections sticking out from the stove and douse them with water or smother them with earth. Leave the remaining coals and lit fuel inside the stove until they burn out on their own, this should only take a minute or so once the main fuel wood is removed. Dousing the stove with water while it is hot may cause excessive warping. The individual panels that make up the EmberLit may take on a slight warp with use. This is normal and doesn’t affect the assembly or durability of the stove. Check that any remaining coals are out and the stove is cool then scatter any remaining ashes.

Cooking over a wood fire will inevitably lead to a buildup of creosote and soot on your cookware. This isn’t really an issue, the creosote can actually aid in quick and even heating, but if you prefer bright, shiny cookware, simply apply some denatured or rubbing alcohol then wash with soap and water. The alcohol will dissolve the creosote in a matter of seconds.

Helpful Tips:

Getting optimum performance out of your stove will take some practice and patience. Certain woods will work better than others, so get to know your EmberLit stove and become familiar with its operation before heading out on a trip.

As with any stove, use common sense when operating your EmberLit stove:

Slow down, take your time
Don’t leave the stove unattended
Don’t operate the stove inside a closed environment
Be sure that your fire is out and the ashes are cool when you clean out your stove. Even the tiniest of hot coals could spark a wild firearagraph here.
